April Magazine Challenge pt 2

April Magazine Challenges

Hello friends! Here are my entries for the Circle's April magazine challenge.  My sweet hubby took the pics.  That's why the three blocks are out of order.  They were supposed to say I love butterflies.  Hey, at least he helped, right?

The other is for my dear daughter's room.  She loves flowers and the color purple!

Well, until my next challenge!

Altered Dominos

Wow!  Christmas is over? It went so fast!  Santa was very good to my family this year! Can't wait to get organized enough to play with some of my toys! LOL!!

I made these dominos for a gift exchange I participated in.  They were so much fun.  I stamped them with Stazon ink and colored them in with permanent markers and some awesome Stickles!  Stickles are such a cool invention, don't you think?  Anyway... Then I covered them with Glossy Accents.  For the charms that hang down below, I used white shrink plastic and cut shapes with my Cricut and Imagine.   I colored them with permanent markers, shrunk them and let them cool.  Finally, I covered them with UTEE and baked them for thirty more seconds.  I glued little wire hangers on the back of the dominos and hung the charms.  I also glued magnets on the back to display them on the fridge.  You can also use glue on bales and hang them as ornaments.

A word of caution!!!  These dominos are extremely addicting.  I am already making plans for Valentines day!! He! He! He!!

Last of the Challenges!!

Well, I finished!  This challenge was based on a sketch,  This is my take on it.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my projects.  Leave me a message and tell me what you think.

Thanks,

Jodie

Cricut Circle Challenge week 10-3 through 10-8

10/7 Recipe Challenge
se your Cricut machines to create a project using the following “recipe.” It must contain 1) A Title; 2) Atleast 2 Cricut Cuts, and 3) Atleast 3 buttons.

This little guy is going on my daughter's door.  She is so into Halloween this year.  She decorated her room and even the back yard.  Too cute!  It has "Beware" as the title, many Cricut cuts and the three little buttons are down at the bottom.  Love them so much!!

10/6  Imagine Layer and Print Challenge
Use your Imagine Machine to print a background (it can be a solid color or a patterned paper from your Imagine cartridge) and use it on your project as well as cutting an image of your choice in layers- that’s right, choose the layers option on your image and print out one or all of the layers offered, piece them together on your project!

Using Nursery Tails, I created this little baby!  As an added touch, I ran the scalloped oval through my Xyron machine and added glitter.

10/5 Cuttlebug Challenge
Create a project of your choice using your Cuttlebug machine as the main focus. Your project must include atleast 2 different Cricut Image Cuts

How awesome is the Cuttlebug machine?  I am a very tactile person.  Anything I can touch is awesome and using the Cuttlebug not only adds texture and depth, but it invites the viewer to touch the project.  Maybe that's why I get so many fingerprints all over my projects!! LOL!

10/4 Monocromatic Challenge
Create a project of your choice using a monochromatic color scheme. Your project must include atleast 2 different Cricut Image Cuts

OH!!  Really hard challenge for me.  Who knew there were so many shades of one color?  And the hard part is choosing ones that compliment each other and not clash.  My Imagine made it a little easier.  I was able to use one cartrige and get several options of the same color, in this case aqua blue, that didn't fight each other.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  They really do look good together in person.

10/3 Circle Cartridge Challenge
Create a project of your choice with one or more of the Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridges! (French Manor, Shall We Dance, Cricut Everyday, Pop-Up Neighborhood, or Sophie) Your project must include atleast 2 different Cricut Image Cuts. And YES! You can mix in other cartridges with your Circle Exclusive cartridges.

LOVED this challenge.  I have been wanting to use this hot air balloon from Neighborhood Pop Up Cards forEVER!!  I made a birthday card from it and the recipient LOVED it!!  I also used gold cording and shrink plastic for the charm on the front.  Too fun for words!!

Well, there you have it!  I still have one more challenge that I am going to finish tonight.  They have to be posted by 11:59 p.m. Utah time.

 I better get busy!!

Thanks for stopping by!

September Magazine Challenge

Hello fellow crafters.  Today I have my entry for the September 2011 Circle magazine challenge.  Our challenge was to use something from Cosmo Cricket, three Cricut cuts and a Cuttlebug folder.  I used the AWESOME Hopscotch Imagine cartridge designed by Cosmo Cricket, Happy Birdie Day cut from Straight From the Nest and the birdcage, a card base and a doily cut from my new favorite Cricut cart Sophie!  It's so beautiful and only available to Cricut Circle members.  I also used the Swiss dots folder for the inside of the card, but you can't see it very well in the picture.  I think now I should sanded it a little, but I didn't want the shabby chic look this time.

It is a simple card, but I so love the papers and colors.  I hope you enjoy it too.
