Today my project is a thank you card I made for my awesome bosses! Every year we have a classified employees week and our bosses go all out! This year was no exception! We had a Summer BBQ that was out of this world! To say thank you, I made 8 cards and had everyone in our office sign them. All I have to say is thank goodness for my Silhouette Cameo!! Amazing machine! I downloaded all the files from the Silhouette America online shop and whipped these guys out in no time!!
This is the front.

Good morning my friends!! Today I showed how easy it was to use the Simple Cards Cricut cartridge to make this adorable anniversary card for my hubby on Our Kreative Karma ! It is free to use this week only in the Cricut Craft Room at Cricut.com.  Really cute cartridge!

This is the front...

And this is a close up of the glitter!

Such a fun cart!  I hope you go over and try it out!

One other little exciting thing happened to me last week.  Mark Montano is a clothing designer/interior decorator/crafter extraordinaire and he is always posting amazing videos on Facebook.  He does give aways every week and last week guess who won his latest book, The Big Ass Book of Bling?!

The Big-Ass Book of Bling

Yes,  Sir!  It was me!!  It is an amazing book and I am excited to start making some of his projects.  If you are on Facebook, look him up.  Join his group and comment on his giveaways!  You just may get your own Big Ass Book too! Please tell him Jodie sent you!  It won't get you any more points, but I know he would like that!!

Thanks for dropping by! One more day and it is the weekend!!  Guess what I am doing?  Hint: see the book above! LOL!!

Big hugs!

Jodie

Altered Domino Books

Good morning friends!!  We are half way through my favorite month of the year!  March is my birth month and I love to celebrate all month long!!  I used to joke with my friends in high school that someday my birthday would be a holiday!  Well, in California it is! It's Cesar Chavez day and this year it is extra special because it is also Easter!!  LOVE it!!

But enough about my excitement! LOL!!  My project for today is an altered domino book.  These are so fun and so addicting! I've made 5 at last count!

For this little book, I chose flower fairy images because, well, it's Spring!!

First of all, I covered the back and sides of both dominoes with Ranger ink in different colors. Then,
I found the images I wanted on flickr.  There are tons of free images on there!  Love that site!!

I shrunk them down to roughly 1.8 x 1.25 inches and printed them out on my laserjet printer.  I trimmed them to fit the covers of the dominoes and sprayed them with hairspray to seal them so they wouldn't run when I applied the Glossy Accents.  Am I the only one with hair spray in her craftroom?

Finally, glued them to the dominoes and then I covered them with Glossy Accents.  I  added a metal butterfly from Making Memories before the GA dried.

Then, I took a 2 x 12 inch strip of scrapbook paper and folded it into 12 1 inch sections.  I glued in more fairy pics, and inked and stickled until it looked like I spilled fairy dust all over.

I added a couple cute altered tickets I received in a swap I did recently.  Finally, I used more Glossy Accents and glued a strip of ribbon between the accordion folded paper and the back of the domino.  This allows you to secure the book closed.

VIOLA!! It was done!!

Here are a couple others I did too.

These little books would be perfect to use instead of greeting cards or to use as a mini journal  to leave a keepsake with a special message for your children.  I just love them.

Well, I hope that I have inspired you to try something new and different.  If you do, please post it on your blog and leave me a comment with a link to your post.  I love seeing other people's ideas.

Have a great Friday!

Hugs!

Jodie

12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop Day 5!!

Good morning!  I am a guest designer on Honeybearz Designs 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop today.  You should have come from HoneyBearz Designs  If not, make sure you get over there.  She has some awesome blog candy!!

So excited to be here and to share my little craft with you!!!  I picked today because it is also my little sister's birthday!!  Happy Birthday, Lorie!!

I used pieces of 2x4 boards cut into 4 and 5 inch sections and painted with traditional Christmas colors.  (Thanks goes to my sweet hubby for the cutting and painting!)  I cut the shapes with my Cricut from the A Quilted Christmas cart and the letters from the Story Book cart.

I used white gel pen to edge the blocks and 6 inch wide tule to wrap around the block and tied in a knot at the top.

The paper is from the DCWV Christmas cardstock stack.  Love the glitter and foil paper.

My images were cut at 3.38" and 4.48" depending on the size of the block they were attached to.  The letters are cut out at 1.55".

Here is the whole project once again! In case you can't tell, together the blocks spell "Believe."

Thank you so much for visiting today!  And thank you to Lisa for having me!  I hope you enjoy all the projects the ladies have put together to inspire you.  Also, Lisa has worked very hard to organize such an awesome 12 day event!  Don't forget to give her some blog love for her hard work in coordinating the hop and her amazing projects!

Your next stop is Daizy Collins at: Tsunami Rose Designs

Here is a complete line up for the hop in case you get lost along the way. You wont want to miss any of the wonderful projects these talented ladies have made.
