12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop Day 5!!

Good morning!  I am a guest designer on Honeybearz Designs 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop today.  You should have come from HoneyBearz Designs  If not, make sure you get over there.  She has some awesome blog candy!!

So excited to be here and to share my little craft with you!!!  I picked today because it is also my little sister's birthday!!  Happy Birthday, Lorie!!

I used pieces of 2x4 boards cut into 4 and 5 inch sections and painted with traditional Christmas colors.  (Thanks goes to my sweet hubby for the cutting and painting!)  I cut the shapes with my Cricut from the A Quilted Christmas cart and the letters from the Story Book cart.

I used white gel pen to edge the blocks and 6 inch wide tule to wrap around the block and tied in a knot at the top.

The paper is from the DCWV Christmas cardstock stack.  Love the glitter and foil paper.

My images were cut at 3.38" and 4.48" depending on the size of the block they were attached to.  The letters are cut out at 1.55".

Here is the whole project once again! In case you can't tell, together the blocks spell "Believe."

Thank you so much for visiting today!  And thank you to Lisa for having me!  I hope you enjoy all the projects the ladies have put together to inspire you.  Also, Lisa has worked very hard to organize such an awesome 12 day event!  Don't forget to give her some blog love for her hard work in coordinating the hop and her amazing projects!

Your next stop is Daizy Collins at: Tsunami Rose Designs

Here is a complete line up for the hop in case you get lost along the way. You wont want to miss any of the wonderful projects these talented ladies have made.

Festive Friday - Halloween Revisited

Good morning friends!!! It's finally Friday AND a three day weekend!  I am so excited.    Veteran's Day is always the signal to me that the holiday season is upon us!!

Today, is Festive Friday at My Cricut Craft Room and today's assignment was to revisit a project we made for Halloween.  I am thrilled to be able to share this little project with you all.  We had this fun little event in our office this year where you would walk in one morning to a surprise goody package on your desk.  You are supposed to know who "Boo'ed" you.  Your job is to pay it forward.  Well, I got boo'ed and even though I knew this project would give it away, I had to play with my vinyl and etching cream!!  I actually did two of these and the ladies went crazy over them!!

I used Ribbons and Rossettes, Pumpkin Carvings, CTMH Art Philosophy,

I cut most of the outside images at 1.75 inches

The center images were welded together and cut at approx. 7.5 inches

I also did a clear mug with the word Boo on it.  If you have never used etching cream, you have to try it.  I simply cut my images from vinly and placed the vinyl where I wanted the plate and cup to be clear.  Then, I smeared the etching cream on the exposed areas, waited 15 minutes and rinsed off. Viola!!

The ladies loved their Boo packages so much!

Also, for those of you who remember, I made my darling daughter's Halloween costume according to her specifications this year.  Here is the final result.  I wish I had a better picture of the back.  She looked so cute and she was so proud!!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Please go back to My Cricut Craft Room to see what else Erica has in store for you!!

November 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

This is the first weekend of the month and that means it's time for the My Cricut Craft Room's 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop.  Each member of the design team is using at least four different cartridges to create holiday projects.

You should have arrived from Cathy's Blog.

If you just happen to stop by, start at the beginning and hop along to see all the great holiday projects.

For my first project, I used When It's Cold Outside for the snow flake.
I cut it at 3 inches and Mod Podged it to the candle block my hubby made for me.  The one in the background features the pointsettia from Winter Woodland.

These are domino magnets.  The Ho Ho Ho cut is from Very Merry tags and the snowman and house are from Gingerbread

Here is another view.

These next two images are from the Teresa Collin's Silhouettes Cricut Craft Room exclusive cartridge.

Again, they are put on a candle holder blank.  My hubby did such a good job!  Thanks, Sweety!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Your next stop is Robin's Blog
If you get side tracked along the way, here's a complete list of all the Sunday Stops.

Theme Day Thursday October 25, 2012 –Christmas Gifts

Good morning my friends!! I can't believe I have my first Christmas project done.  Our director is having the Christmas party at her house this year and I thought it would be so nice to bring this little bowl filled with candy.  LOTS of chocolate candy!  Yum!

I used Joys of the Season to cut thes adorable little snowflakes out at two inches in vinyl.

Here are a couple other views.

So fun and easy too!

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing my first Christmas gift.  Please go back to My Cricut Craft Room to see what other members have done for Christmas gifts!

My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Tuesday

Good morning my friends!  While you are reading this, we will be partying in the office, celebrating our wonderful bosses!!  We really do have some amazing bosses too.  There are 7 supervisors in our office and my contribution to the party is 7 Bosses Day cards.

All I have to say is, "Thank goodness for Love You A Latte!!"  What an adorable and versatile cartridge!  Since we are having coffee and breakfast for the bosses, the theme of the cart is perfect for my cards!

This cut was cut at 5.5 inches and mounted on cardstock.  I purposely hung the handle off the card to give it some dimension.

This cup was cut at 4.5 inches.  I took two cup bases, flipped one and welded the rims together.  The flowers are from Close To My Heart Art Philosophy

This one was cut at 5.5 inches and, again the flower is from Close to My Heart Art Philosophy.

This one was cut at 5.5 inches and the flower is from Maya Road.

This fun little card was created by, again, taking two cup bases, flipping one and welding the rims together.

Finally, the last card is from Once Upon a Princess.  This time I used two tea pot shadow bases, flipped one and welded the lids together.

I stamped each card inside with the phrase "Happy Bosses' Day!"

The final card is not Cricut related, so I will save that for another post.
Well, I hope enjoyed my labor of love!  Please go back to My Cricut Craft Room to see what other members have done to honor their bosses!

If you are a boss, I hope your employees spoil you rotten!

Hugs,

Jodie

Would You Ever Guess Wednesday, October 10

Good morning!!  Wow!  October 10.  October is really flying by!  I have a dragon costume to make by Halloween and I am starting to panic a bit!  It is my DD's own creation.  I'll post pics when I get it done!

Today on My Cricut Craft Room it is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday.  Today's challenge was to take the negative of a shadow cut and and use it instead of the actual cut!  Originally, I wanted to do a folded center, but once I saw this adorable paper, I was sold.

The flower is cut from Fabulous Finds, the word "Hi!" is from Cricut Craftroom Basics, and the leaf is from Sophie.

One other little note.  I wanted to give the layers of the card some depth and popdots just weren't doing the job.  So, I took a wine cork I had for another project and cut a slice off.  It was about a 3/8 inch slice.  I cut it into quarters and glued it in with glossy accents.  I love that foiled paper.  Oh, and believe it or not, the two papers are really just two sides of the same piece of paper.  It is from a Martha Stewart stack I bought a hundred years ago.

Thanks for looking!  Please head back over to My Cricut Craft Room to see what other awesome projects my sister design team members have in store for you!!

Hugs,

Jodie

PS:  Thank you so much for all the awesome comments you have made on my blog posts.  I squeal everytime my cellphone shows me another comment.  People are beginning to think I am weird, but I really love it!  You are all so awesome!!

My Cricut Craft Room October Blog Hop

October 100 Cartridge Hop with My Cricut Craft Room

If you are arriving from Amy's Blog, then you are on the right track.
If you need to start from the beginning, please head over to
My Cricut Craft Room.

This month we got to choose 4 Cricut Cartridges that we wanted
to use on our projects.

I used:
Christmas Solutions, Pretty Pennants, Paisley and Word of Mouth Imagine Cartridges.

First project up is a Card I created with Christmas Solutions.  Love this Cartridge!! OK, I love them all.

I used several sizes of the branch cut to make the Christmas tree background.

The tag was cut at 1.5 inches and I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 and gel pens for the phrase.

The ornament was cut at 3 inches and I added some bling!

My second and third projects are tags for a swap I am participating in later this month.  They will hold clusters of beads.

I used Paisley for my first tag.  The tag base is from Close to My Heart's Art Philosophy cart.

And the paisley is from Paisley.

The leaf cut on this tag is from Pretty Pennants and the flower is from Art Philosophy.  Just goes to show you don't need to use  the pennant cuts for pennants.

Here is a closer pic of the tag.

Finally, a project I am sooooooo excited about.  I used the Imagine Word of Mouth Cartridge for this project. I did a photo transfer using an image that I printed on my Imagine. I printed it out on regular copy paper.  Make sure you flip the image so it prints out backwards.  I then painted a piece of 3/4 plywood with acrylic paint and let it dry.  Finally, I painted the board where I wanted my design with some Golden Soft Gel Medium.  You can find it in the fine arts section of most major craft stores.  I laid my print (trimmed of excess white paper) face down on the board and let it dry over night.

The next day, I took a sponge brush and water and wet the entire surface of the paper.  I let it set for a second and then I gently rubbed off the paper.  The design stayed on the board.

Finally, I used Mod Podge Matte to seal it and added a key ring hooks.  Viola!  It was so easy and so fun!!  I hope you try it.

Well, thanks for looking!  I hope you enjoy the rest of the awesome hop!!

Tess's projects are next.
And here is the complete line up if you get lost along the way!

Would You Every Guess Wednesday!

Good morning!   Wow!  has it been hot in sunny Southern California the last few days!  Over 105 where we live!  I'm talking sweltering!  And then I read Montana is possibly getting snow?  Crazy!

You should have come over from My Cricut Craft Room.  If not, make sure you go over and see the other amazing projects over there!!

Well, here is my original project!  I loved the paper and the cuts, but, wow!!  Did I mess up the border or what?  Yuck!  So last night, I decided I wanted to redo the background.

Ahhhhh!!  Much better!! I used Forever Young for the girl, Smiley Cards for the balloon and xoxo's and Cricut Craft Room Basics for the background

I put the heart balloon together and covered it with Glossy Accents to give it the glossy, balloon look.

I highlighted the xoxo's with a darker pink pen.

Here it is again!  I am very happy with the way it finally turned out.

Well thank you for looking.  Don't forget!   My Cricut Craft Room  is hosting the October 100 Cartridge blog hop this weekend.  We really do feature over 100 different carts and everyone does an awesome job!!

For more inspiration, please go back to My Cricut Craft Room and check out what my fellow design team members did!

Jodie

Scrapbook Friday With My Cricut Craft Room

Good morning!  It's Friday and payday!!  My favorite days of the month!!  Whooo!  Hoo!!

You should have come over from My Cricut Craft Room.  If not, make sure you go over and see the other Fall treats!  Amazing projects over there!!

Today, I have a cute little page for you.  This is a recipe page for my 6 x 6 recipe book.  It's my favorite cake too!  I used CCR Germany and CCR Labels for my cuts.

This picture shows how I colored my leaves.  This was Erica's idea.  I just left everything on the mat and used pieces of white felt dipped in ink pads.  So easy and NO MESS!!  Brilliant idea!!

This adorable little clock was cut from CCR Germany.  It just seemed so perfect for this page.

This label was cut from CCR Labels.  Before I cut it, I used my awesome gel pens and the Caligraphy font cartridge to write the title.

Here is my project again.
I just realized I didn't take a picture of the back.  That has the recipe on it.  That way, I get to see both sides of my two sided paper!  No waste!

Thank you for looking.  For more inspiration, please go back to My Cricut Craft Room and check out what my fellow design team members did!

Hugs,

Jodie
