Scrapbook Friday at My Cricut Craft Room!

Good morning everyone!  It is my favorite day of the week!  FRIDAY!!  So happy!

Today's challenge was to create an interactive scrapbook page.

I had a lot of fun with this one.

This little butterfly acts as a pull tab to open my journaling spot or another picture if I want.

Here is a view of it pulled out!

The pink sections open up to allow me to put up to six more pictures on this page.  Here is how I did it!

For the catapiller, I welded three sets of to pink layers together.  I made 6 duplicates of the layers.  For the first two sets I hide the other two layers and flipped on set to face the other way.  Then I welded them together.  I did this to the other sets as well.  This made little flaps that I could lift to see up to six more pictures.

Here they are open.

First, I decided where I wanted my photo placed.  I cut a 4.5 x 6.5 rectangle to mach the background paper and layed it over my background paper.  This will allow my pull tab to slide in and out without getting hung up on the background paper.

For the pull out tab, I welded the base of my butterfly to a small rectangle.  Then I welded it to a large 4 x 6.5 rectangle.  Finally, I welled another .3 x 6.5 inch rectangle a 1/4 of an inch from the end of the rectangle.

Then, I cut a 4.5 x 6.5 rectangle for my photo mat.  This will allow for a 1/4 inch border around my picture.  I flipped it over and put a foam square in each corner.  Then I layed my slider face down on it to check the fit and to position it when I place the whole photo mat onto my page.  You have t make sure it is in place before you lay the mat down because the foam squares will keep the slider from coming all the way out from the picture.

This is an upclose picture of the other butterfly.  I popped it up with foam squares and used it as a photo corner.  The photo will slide right under the tail of the butterfly.

Finally, here is another look at my completed project.  I hope you enjoyed it.  I can't wait to get my pics printed to put on the page.

Thanks for stopping by.  For more inspiration, head back over to My Cricut Craft Room and give my fellow design team members some love too!
